Weekend Update: Saturday Randomness

Just a little update on things that have been going on around here:

I was awakened this morning, by a bluejay on my bedroom windowsill. He was tap-tap-tapping again. This is the second time that has happened. He would make an effective alarm clock, if he was a little more dependable.

Ray's still not working. He doesn't want to go crawling back...again, and I don't blame him, but the guy owes him quite a bit of money, so he needs to go collect it, somehow. I really wish he could find a regular job, that would pay REGULARLY, but I with the rest of the world out of work too...that's not likely to happen. I'm still trying to Fully Rely On God for this to work out, put it's hard to do.

In weight loss news: I'm still kinda stuck. I haven't been going to WW, just can't afford it. That doesn't mean I'm giving up, I'm still TRYING to lose on my own, but nothing much has been happening lately. I've decided I will just pick a day and time to weigh in on my own scale, and then I'll do a regular weekly weigh-in post, so you can all keep up with my progress too.I'm going to count on you, my lovely readers, to keep me accountable. I haven't quite decided when to do the weigh-ins, but I'll let you know SOON...

And now, from the fishy files... Molly's latest fish, "Tiger", died of Ich the other day. Jessica bought something to cure it, but by the time Molly was going to put the stuff in the water, the poor little fishy had gone to that big ocean in the sky...or wherever little fishies go. So far, he is survived by his friend, "Spiderman II". He was preceded in death by: Cody, Ozzy, Cody II, and Spiderman. All of the fish that have died so far, have come from Wallyworld. The surviving fish was purchased from a pet store. If this one lasts a little longer, Molly MAY get another one from there.

25 Random Things About Me

Since I've already done this on Facebook, and then inadvertently erased it, I thought I would do it as a blog. My blog is imported to Facebook, so that way I sorta kill two birds with one stone. I'm not going to "tag" anyone here, but I will over there. If you read it and feel like doing it, go ahead. Just leave me a comment to let me know, so I can go read yours too.

1. I'm the 5th of 10 children in my family, and growing up, I didn't look like any of the others.
2. I was accidentally kidnapped when I was 4 days old, while asleep in the car that someone decided to take a joy ride in.
3. When I was 5 years old, I had a pet chicken named Henrietta.
4. My cousin Bonnie and I were born on the same day in the same hospital, and often pretended we were twins. We celebrated a big birthday last June.
5. My sister Kathy was born on our 11th birthday. This year she gets to celebrate a big birthday.
6. My favorite color is blue.
7. I collect frogs, (not real ones), dolls and dust.
8. My husband and I met on an online Christian dating forum.
9. Between us we have 7 children, ranging in age from 12 to almost 30.
10. The 12 year old and the almost 30 year old are both mine.
11. I'm working on losing around 100 pounds. I'm a little over a third of the way there.
12. To say that I am NOT a sports fan is the understatement of the year. If you talk sports to me, it turns off a switch in my brain and I won't hear another thing more you are saying.
13. I ran off with the carnival when I was 18 or 19, but only for about six weeks or so.
14. In 2002, I underwent open-heart surgery in May and had a hysterectomy in October.
15. I've been a blogger since April of last year. It's a great creative outlet, and also comes in handy when I want to brag about my grandkids, or vent about how stupid McDonald's is.
16. We have 3 of the cutest grandsons in the whole wide world.
17. All of my kids are now taller than I am. Even my 12 year old daughter.
18. All of my step-children are married, but none of my own children currently are. Not even the 12 year old.
19. My bestest friends are all quite a bit younger than I am, so they refer to me as "the token old lady".
20. I don't really like surprises. Perhaps it's a control issue?
21. I drink way too much coffee, in fact I'm drinking some now and it's almost midnight.
22. I really hate cold and snow and ice, but I was born in MN and my family is here...so here I am, and here I shall stay.
23. I come from a singing family and love to sing. I especially like to use my voice to sing praise to my Lord.
24. Speaking of 24, I hate that show...and my husband is watching it even as I type this.
25. I lost my younger sister to breast cancer almost 6 years ago, and I miss very much.

1. I met my husband on an online dating service.


2. I was once a "carnie" (and coincidentally, so was my husband).


3. I am the 5th of 10 children.


4. My first child was born in '79...and my last one in '97.


5. I had open-heart surgery at the age of 43.


6. I have a "twin cousin", (my cousin and I were born the same day in the same hospital).


7. When I was a little girl, I had a pet chicken named "Henrietta".


8. If you have ever told me when your birthday was...chances are I still remember.


9. I took care of my grandson for 5 months while my daughter served in Iraq.


10. I have been mistaken for my youngest daughter's grandma...but have also been thought to be my grandson's mother.


11. I'm a "Veggietale-ian". I am trying to collect every VeggieTales DVD ever made.


12. I have never given birth on or before my due date... child #3 was 29 days late!


13. I HATE sports. Yes, ALL sports. No, I'm not looking forward to 8 . 8 . 08.
