Just a quick note to let everyone know I'm still alive. Here I sit at the library again...wishing we could afford a new computer...or at least a new harddrive for the old one. We've been kinda busy with other things in life to even get the thing checked out. I will definitely try to do that soon.
You don't realize how much you rely on these things until yours dies. We do our banking and pay almost all of our bills online these days...not to mention keeping up with what's going on with family, friends and church members...I just read a prayer request for my friend Jody. Apparently, she's in the hospital about to give birth...(or perhaps she already has). I'm going to have to run and make a few phone calls, find out what the scoop is. It is a few weeks early for this little one to arrive, but Jody is farther along in this pregnancy than she was with either of her other children. Keep her and the new little bundle in your prayers please. Thanks

Sad News and Prayer Request
Just a note here to let people know that my step-daughter, Ruth suffered a miscarriage yesterday at 21 weeks. She and her fiance, Dan are doing as well as can be expected in a situation such as this. They named the baby boy Jeremiah James and a graveside service will most likely be held for him this Friday afternoon, here in our home town for family and close friends. Please keep Ruth and Dan and their families in your prayers. Thank you.

Week 17 Weigh-In ~ 30 lbs gone!
Actually, 30.6 in almost 4 months. That's almost as much as my grandson, CJ weighs...and he gets awfully heavy after just a few minutes. I feel much better with even that amount off. My knees don't bother me at all, and I think I just have more energy. I would really like to have 50 lbs off by our anniversary on September 30, but maybe 40 is a more realistic goal. If I actually do get 50 lbs off, I hereby promise to post the (fully clothed) picture of my butt that CJ snapped with my camera last year on that date, along side a current one of my (somewhat smaller behind). The photo was taken with my old fashioned film type camera at a hotel we were at in Sioux Falls last year. The film was still in the camera until just recently when I got them developed and discovered the not-so-flattering picture of my patoot. CJ was not even quite 3 years old then, but he was already a budding photographer.
I'm still computer-less. Right now, I'm at my friend Lisa's house blogging right alongside of her. Actually, she's busy ignoring her family and entering giveaways at the moment. Their livingroom is a bit like a computer lab with 3 machines going all at once. Thanks for sharing your computer, Lisa!

My Computer is Toast!
Or so it seems for the moment anyway. I tried to restart it yesterday, because it was acting stupid...that was a mistake. I have not been able to restart it since. It just keeps flashing from one screen to another. I even tried to start it up in "safe" mode...that was a no go too.
Right now I'm posting this at the public library while I wait for an oil change to be done on my vehicle. Hopefully, we'll be able to get something figured out...or I won't be blogging for awhile.
We do have another one, that MIGHT work...we have to get something figured out. We can't afford a new computer, and I don't know if I can live without one without going stir crazy.
I'll get back online again somehow tomorrow, (even if it means another trip to the library) and let y'all know if we've made any progress.

Week 16 Weigh In ~ Missed It by THAT Much!
I was really hoping to have 30 lbs off by this week, but I don't. I lost 2.2 lbs this week for a total of...(drum roll please)...29 lbs gone!!! I'll take it. Now if I can just keep it up and lose a few more this week. One thing that did happen with this weeks weigh in, was that the second digit of my weight dropped to the next lower digit. I'm pretty sure that means I lose another point. You pretty much lose a point with every 1o lbs you lose.
To figure out how many points you are allowed per day, one of the criteria is the first two digits of your starting weight. From there, they add points for different things ~ like being a certain age, (younger than I am), being male (obviously not me), or being over 6 ft tall, (nope, not me either). You are also allowed extra points for the activity level in your daily routine. When I started out the program, I could have a total of 30 pts per day. By contrast, my hubby, who was 300 lbs, happens to be male, is over 6 ft tall and works quite hard at times was allowed a whopping 44 points per day. That's a LOT of points, but we figured he had been eating a LOT MORE pre-Weight Watchers.
I'm very proud of him, he's probably lost somewhere around 35 lbs, so he's lost a few points too... I think I'm right around 27 now myself. It's all good, I think my stomach has shrunk too, so it's not like I feel hungry at the end of the day...and if I do, I can always munch on veggies...they're what we like to call "pointless".

Beth Was Awesome as Usual

Beth is so personable, everyone that knows of her at all thinks of her as their "best friend". She would go and sit and chat with people in the audience. Here she is picking on some guy that came to the conference with his wife. After talking to him, she turned and saw this little 10 year old girl named Anna, and talked with her a bit. She asked her if her mother had dragged her there, or if Anna had wanted to come. Little Anna replied that she had seen Beth in SD and enjoyed it so she wanted to come again.

I'm Off To See Beth!
I am going to the Beth Moore conference with a group of women from my church. Some of us have done several of her bible studies over the past few years, which all had videos that went along with them. I have always enjoyed these studies, because she's so good at relating to other women. During almost every video lesson, if you looked around the room, everyone was laughing, or crying...or crying until we laughed. Come to think of it, I should really pack my purse with a bunch of Kleenex right now.
It should be an inspirational and fun weekend. I also get to spend tonight in a hotel room with 3 other women...that should be interesting too! Although, we won't be done until 9:30 tonight, and the doors open at 7:30 tomorrow morning...so I guess we'll have to get some sleep...I've never done anything like this before, and I'm really looking forward to it. I'll let y'all know how it went.
