Book Review and Giveaway of "Dinner with a Perfect Stranger: An Invitation Worth Considering"

Can you imagine receiving an invitation to dine with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ- at a fancy Italian restaurant no less? ? Would you accept his invitation? And what exactly does one wear to such an occasion? For that matter, what on earth would you discuss with him once you got there?

This book, by David Gregory lets you see exactly what could happen, through the eyes of Nick Cominski, an ordinary businessman, when he receives just such an invitation. You will be captivated from start to finish, while the author takes you through arrival at the restaurant and meeting "Yeshua" (Nick calls him Yesh), ordering the appetizers, the main course, the dessert and then coffee -- and the life-changing conversation that takes place between the two of them during this delectable dinner. I promise, you will NOT want to put this book down, so just make sure you have an open hour or two to devote to this book. It won't take you any longer than that to read, and is WELL worth your time. My husband Ray, (who hasn't read an entire book in years), was persuaded to read this one, after I read him the first chapter of it. He couldn't put it down either. I was amazed at how much spiritual truth David Gregory has packed into this short novella. Yes, good things DO come in small packages.

You are Invited to a Dinner with Jesus of Nazareth. The mysterious envelope arrives on Nick Cominsky’s desk amid
a stack of credit card applications and business-related junk mail. Although his
seventy-hour workweek has already eaten into his limited family time, Nick can’t
pass up the opportunity to see what kind of plot his colleagues have hatched. The
normally confident, cynical Nick soon finds himself thrown off-balance, drawn
into an intriguing conversation with a baffling man who appears to be more than
comfortable discussing everything from world religions to the existence of
heaven and hell. And this man who calls himself Jesus also seems to know a
disturbing amount about Nick’s personal life.…."You’re bored, Nick. You were
made for more than this. You’re worried about God stealing your fun, but
you’ve got it
backwards.… There’s no adventure like being joined to the Creator of the
universe." He leaned back off the table. "And your first mission would be to let
him guide you out of the mess you’re in at work."….As the evening progresses,
their conversation touches on life, God, meaning, pain, faith, and doubt–and it
seems that having Dinner with a Perfect Stranger may change Nick’s life
forever.

I think if I received the invite, my first questions would be, "Why Me?"
Sounds like a good book. I'd love to read it.

Another question I would ask:
Why are there so many sick people in the world with illnesses we can't find cures for?

I think that I would ask Jesus if I drive him crazy with the things I say and do. Not a mind blowing question, but it would start a good conversation. Interesting premise, to say the least. Thank you for the giveaway.
